Have you ever heard of Law of Attraction? A general description of this is:

"The Law of Attraction states that we attract people, circumstances, happiness into our lives through our thoughts and feelings. This means that if you have relationships, health, work that you are not satisfied with, it is possible for you to turn things around - by consciously changing your thoughts, feelings and attitude towards these areas in your life."

The Law Of Attraction worked for this online dater.

There was an article in today's paper about a couple who met online and will be married at the end of the month. Congrats!

I wanted to share with you the approach she took. She said "I realized it really was the new way to meet people". With that in mind, she was clear and precise on who she was looking for. She was using the Law of Attraction. She knew:

- a particular religious background
- high morals

I have read a few articles lately that say that people may be hiding behind online dating. What does the mean? Good question!

I was happy to see that most of these articles were referring to gay and lesbian folks coming out of the closet through online dating. Personally I don't think that sexual orientation should be kept a secret, but I certainly understand that in many places in our world it has to be.

One of the articles I read said "An increasing number of gay and lesbian youth have taken their first steps into the enigmatic “gay community” by passing through an online chat room door. What often awaits them is an oasis of images and personal ads, where Mr. Right or Ms. Tonight is one click away."

It certainly is not just youth who are faced with 'coming out'. Many Baby Boomers are coming to this point of exposing who they really are.

What you need to do is see - in your minds eye - exactly who it is you want to be with. Focus on your technicolor vision of your Ideal Mate. See and feel, hear and smell, and taste fully what life will be like. Where will you be? What will you be doing? What will you be wearing? Tasting? Touching? Feeling?

In fact, yes you can.

A report from England states that people can get "high" from trying online dating (we are just talking about connecting online). What is the "high". It is anticipation of romance and love... endorphins the flow through us that say 'yes he/she may be the one and I am so happy'. Some people find the 'rush' from endorphins addictive.

Is there anything wrong with this, not at all. Just make sure that your "high", online and/or offline, you recognize and not just act on that "high". Think with your head, and your heart, so you don't make any mistakes.

I have talked about this before, but I want to talk to you about it again because of how 'mainstream' this has become. You may ask, so what does this have to do with me, well a great deal in fact.

Well we know that is not the case.

These days, the world we live in, means that the chances of connecting with anyone, other than through work or family, is slim. Everything happens to fast. We are all so un-connected.

Online dating is a new way to connect and it is now so acceptable. Just watch TV and you see commercials promoting online dating. That tells us that yes it is ok and yes we can try it!

Have you typed into the search engine (Google, MSN, Yahoo) only to find multiple listing of online dating sites but no information on how to get involved in online dating - or even if you should? Welcome to the world of searching!

If you are just looking for an online dating site you can type in a general search and lots - and I mean lots - of online dating site will come up. But if you want to get some great information on online dating sites, for example what might "fit" who you are and what you are looking for, then type in something different. That's why my site is called "Online Dating Resources". It is not an online dating site, it is a website that provides information to people who are out there looking but maybe don't know what online dating site are available or what online dating site might be right for them.

Is this a "promo" for my website, yes and no. Yes because I have spent endless hours researching online dating sites and giving reviews to help you (why? because my husband and I met through online dating) - and no because I just want to make sure that anyone who is looking to start online dating is informed, whether through my website or another. Daytime TV Is Now Doing Online Dating!

I read in the paper today that Jill on The Young and The Restless is going to try online dating. I know it is not new that online dating is promoted through daytime TV - just look at Dr. Phil who promotes online dating - but hey you can imagine how many people watch Soaps. So for all of us there is no need to hide (if you did) that we take part in Online Dating!

With all the reality shows out there, maybe it's time to have a reality online dating program (I know in some respects it has been done), but I mean showing people that online dating can and does work, you just need to be as caustious as you would in real life.

Recent stats I read on the internet say that the success rate of internet dating is about 94%. Ok don't groan, I think that is a bit high too. But I do think it is high and getting even higher as more of us become comfy with the whole idea.

The majority of connections are made viewing a photograph. We see someone's picture and there is something there that catches us, draws us to them, makes us want to take another step. So if you are serious about online dating remember simple text messages will not work as well. Most online dating sites offer a free profile, that is the most important step. If it takes a few bucks to check it out, if you are serious about finding the "one" out there, give it a go!

What this particular article said is that Baby Boomers are more open to online dating - why - mainly because their kids are doing it, and not only doing it but finding Love Online! This has given Boomers a trust of online dating that they may not normally have. Is Online Dating For Real?

There is a controversy in the news about online dating. Some people are charging a particular online dating site of using female employee(s) to go out on a date, apparently pretending to be a member of this particular online dating membership site, to keep men as members.

I am not saying that this is, or is not, true, but what I do want to say is that I personally have used an online dating site, actually a few, and they are/were legit. I actually married a man I met from an online dating site - now how legit is that!

Why am I saying this, well first off I don't think it is right to judge anything based on a news report that may be based on someone who has had a bad experience. (Again I am not saying what is true or not.) Secondly, I would not have this online dating resource site if I had any reservations about it. That does not mean that I can say that all online dating membership sites are on the up-and-up, or that they are not, but what I can say is that my personal experience has been great. I also know many men who have used online dating sites and met many women that have been dates/lovers/friends and loving partners.

So at this time of year when none of us want to be alone, please do not let this deter you from trying to find "your love online". They are out there...trust me. Just make sure that you take all the right precautions, get to know each other enough before meeting... YOU will know when you meet the right one!

Love is out there and online dating is, in my opinion, one of the best ways to really find your soulmate.
